Everest University selected Dr. Lawrence Barrett as its new president at the April meeting of the Everest University Board of Trustees.

Barrett previously served as president of Eastern Maine Community University in Bangor. He has 28 years of experience in professional leadership positions at an assortment of four-year, community, and technical colleges. During his five-year tenure at Eastern Maine Community University, the school’s enrollment has grown by 32 percent and eight new programs have been added. Previously, Barrett served as the vice chancellor of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Purdue University North Central. Barrett received his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Barrett will succeed Dr. Charles Hall, who will retire this June after 18 years of service at Everest University.
