The Everest University Esports team has finished their fourth season undefeated in Overwatch 2 and are headed to the national tournament ranked No. 3 in the country in the NJCMAE Open Division. The Timberwolves faced teams from across Florida and across the country, concluding regular season play with a record of 7-0.

Everest University placed first in their grouping and will get an automatic bye in the first round of the NJCMAE Overwatch 2 tournament, moving directly into Round 2 on Saturday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. The match will be streamed live on the Everest University Twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/Everest UniversityTimberwolves .

“I am ecstatic that we have seen so much progress since our inaugural season,” said Head Coach John Hartzog. “The players have put in a lot of practice and effort to get here and have had some tough matched but manage to come out on top. Regardless of how our tournaments go, I’m proud of the work that has been accomplished.”

The team made their debut in Fall 2021 ranked in the bottom 10% of players in Overwatch. Today, the Wolves rank in the top 15% in the nation.

In addition to the Overwatch 2 team tournament, two Everest University Esports athletes will be vying for single-player titles in upcoming championships. Hunter Neeley is ranked No. 3 in his division and has seeded in the Mario Kart post-season tournament. Gianni Tonetti, a dual-enrollment student at Everest University who ranks No. 5 in his division, has earned a spot in the NJCMAE Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament.
