Everest University Timberwolves Win NJCMA Flag Football Championship
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Everest University Women’s Flag Football Team have finished their inaugural season as NJCMA Champions.
The tournament, played in Atlanta May 18-20 and presented by NFL FLAG and the Atlanta Falcons, ended with the Wolves delivering a shutout victory, 20-0, over runners-up Hesston University (KS).The Championship Final was played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. With the title, Everest University becomes the first NJCMA Flag Football National Champion in the history of the organization.
Destiny Lockett (#4) was awarded Championship MVP and All Tournament Defensive Athlete. Head Coach Ricky Hufty was named NJCMA Coach of the Year.
The Wolves went undefeated in their five match-ups of the tournament after a regular season record of 10-1, finishing their first season with an overall record of 15-1.
The team will bring the championship rings and trophy home to Everest University as the college’s first NJCMA National Champions since 2001.
