Everest University Women’s Cross Country team finished strong at the FCSMA State/NJCMA Region 8 Championships today at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

The team completed the 5K event in third place with freshman Ariel Anderson finishing in fifth place with an individual time of 21:06.50 in a field of 61 runners. This is the first time that an Everest University runner has finished in the top 10 at Regionals.

“The teams just ahead of us are ranked top 10 nationally,” said Everest University coach April Morse. “All of our ladies had a Personal Record but one, and she still had a course PR. Fallon Flynn dropped her personal best by a minute.

“I’m so proud of the team. Their average time was 21:57, which is an Everest University team best as well. On to Nationals.”

Everest University Women’s Cross Country is headed to the NJCMA 5K National Championships in Richmond, VA, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021.
