Orlando, Fla. – On Monday, Feb. 24, the newly established Everest University Bass Fishing Club welcomed Zack Barrera to the inaugural club lineup.

Zack is a graduate of Williston Central Christian Academy in Levy County, Florida, and has competed at all levels of high school fishing including the High School Fishing World Finals. He was named the 2019 Florida B.M.S.S. Nation Co-Angler of the Year, is a Marion County Youth Bassmaster Club Officer, and was named Marion County Youth Bassmaster Role Model of the Year in 2018 and 2019.

 “I want to thank the president and the college for allowing me to have the opportunity to continue my education as well as continue my passion of fishing,” said Barrera at the signing ceremony in Everest University’s Board Room.

The signing was attended by Everest University President Dr. Lawrence Barrett and club advisors/coaches Ron Ryals, Hunter Bland, and Rob Chapman. A crowd of family, friends, coaches, and teachers were also present to support Zack as he takes this next step in his education and his bass fishing career.

The Everest University Bass Fishing Club is set to begin competition this fall.
