Program Overview

Business Development and Entrepreneurship, University Credit Certificate (C.C.C.) – 25 hours (BENT-CER)

The 25 credit hour certificate prepares a student for developing and starting a new business enterprise. Students will learn the fundamentals and tools related to: Developing small business plans, utilizing common business software to access, produce and analyze data, preparing marketing plans for a business service or product, creating business communications and reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and understanding legal, ethical and managerial topics in the business environment.

Admission Requirements

To be officially considered for this program, a student must have a high school diploma or GED certificate, submit an application to Everest University, and take a placement exam if not exempt by the state board of education rule 6A-10.0315.

  • Students can start anytime, but fall is preferable to stay in sequence.

Learning Outcomes
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to develop small business plans, demonstrating competence at accessing, producing, analyzing, and interpreting marketing, financial, and operational data using common business software.
  • Students will prepare marketing plans for a business service or product.
  • Students will prepare business letters, financial reports, or emails, and employ effective communication skills in dealing with stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
  • Students will recognize the legal and ethical issues in the business environment and demonstrate an understanding of management activities in an organization.
