Orlando, Fla. – The Everest University Women’s Cross Country Team has been named No. 16 in the Preseason NJCMA Division II Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll. The voters picked the top selections from a total of 118 NJCMA DII teams from 24 regions across the country.

This marks the third year in a row that the Timberwolves have started the season named in the top 20 teams in the nation.

Head Coach April Morse was pleased with the results of the poll, but doesn’t take them for granted: “I am frankly surprised we are ranked as high, with only two runners returning from last season’s 11th-place-finishing team,” said Morse. “The voters look at incoming freshmen’s times from high school and possibly what coaches have done with such athletes in the past.”

The Wolves’ next event is scheduled for Friday, September 15, when both the women’s and men’s teams will compete in the Southern Showcase.
