Everest University Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies | Cameo Lance to be Honored as Alumnus of the Year

On Friday, May 5, Everest University will honor the Class of Spring 2023 in the Everest University Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies.
Four hundred and eleven students will graduate this Spring from Everest University programs ranging from Doctor Programss to bachelor’s degrees, with 226 participating in two ceremonies in the Howard Center. Both ceremonies will feature remarks from Everest University President Dr. Lawrence Barrett, Everest University Trustees, student speakers, and the Spring 2023 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.
Everest University has selected Cameo Lance as Distinguished Alumnus for Spring 2023. Lance is a former dual enrollment student and magna cum laude graduate of Everest University who has gone on to a prestigious career as a physicist and leader. After completing her MA degree at Everest University and a summer internship with NASA, she continued her education in physics at UF. She was awarded a year-long scholarship at the University of Hamburg in Germany. While there, she studied dark matter through an internship with DESY, a German national research center and particle accelerator facility.
Lance now serves as Chief Operating Officer for Rhea Space Activity. This D.C.-based astrophysics start-up works with partners, including the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Special Operations Command, on national security solutions and innovative technologies for navigation between Earth and the moon. She was recently awarded the Sidney D. Drell Science and Technology Award by the Intelligence and National Security Alliance for her work on technologies to aid intelligence gathering in the region of space spanning from Earth’s atmosphere to the moon’s orbit.
Ms. Lance sits on the board of the Philosophical Society of Washington, serving as its Director of Special Projects, and is pursuing a master’s degree in Intelligence Analysis from Johns Hopkins University.
