Program Overview

Video Game Design, University Credit Certificate (C.C.C.) – 24 hours (CGAC)

This 24-credit hour program is designed for students who are interested in working in the game development industry. Students will learn the basic process of creating a video game from beginning to end. This includes brainstorming an idea, designing gameplay, writing a game design document, and creating animations and digital art. They will also be given the opportunity to create a small original game.

After completing this program, students will have a strong knowledge of the skills and equipment needed to develop modern video and computer games, enabling them to make an informed choice about their future education and career path

Testing Entrance Requirements

Students must demonstrate competence in reading, math, or language through placement examination or by passing the appropriate reading, math or language courses, if not exempt by state board of education rule 6A-10.0315.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday throughout the day. Some classes are held online.

Four Year Transfer

Graduates of the program have transferred to the University of Central Florida’s (UCF) Game Design Program and to the University of Florida’s (UF) Digital Arts & Sciences (BADAS) Program.

Admission Requirements

To be officially considered for this program, a student must have a high school diploma or GED certificate, submit an application to Everest University, and take a placement exam if not exempt by the state board of education rule 6A-10.0315.

  • Students can start any time, but fall is preferable to stay in sequence.
